Melody Becker, MA,
Resident in Counseling
Supervised by Dr. Shepard, License No: 0701005604
Melody earned her master's degree in counseling from Eastern Mennonite University and is currently a counseling resident working toward licensure under clinical supervision. Before becoming a therapist, Melody studied and worked in music, an experience that continues to shape her appreciation for creativity, curiosity, and the healing power of being deeply heard.
Melody provides a warm, collaborative space where clients can explore their experiences with compassion and honesty. Her approach is trauma-informed, person-centered, and grounded in psychodynamic and systemic perspectives. She has experience working with a wide range of concerns, including addiction, anxiety, depression, dreams, grief, OCD, psychosis, panic disorder, PTSD, personality disorders, body dysmorphia, and divorce. Melody has a special interest in postpartum depression and anxiety, as well as supporting individuals through life transitions, relationships, and questions of identity and meaning.
Melody enjoys working with teens, adults, and couples. She believes that therapy is about more than reducing symptoms—it's about cultivating greater self-understanding, self-acceptance, and more fulfilling relationships with ourselves and the people around us.
